Introducing Pink Cat Yarn, Plus an Introductory Deal

Posted by Amy Beaudoin on

Hello, everyone!  My name is Amy, and I started Pink Cat Yarn after being inspired by the Women's March on Washington and the tremendous outpouring of solidarity, hope, and pink hats!  I crocheted a few hats for marchers and friends, but I wanted to do something more to help--particularly since I was buying my yarn at Hobby Lobby, whose corporate "personhood" seems to now be more protected that the rights of individual women to make their own healthcare decisions. I asked myself the question: "What if I could have a store where women could buy yarn for 'craftivist' projects, and they would know their money was also going to help the cause?"

Thus, the idea was born for Pink Cat Yarn.  I love pink, cats, and yarn, and all of those go together symbolically for what this venture stands for.  Half of all my profits will go to a selected list of charities that help women and girls. Right now, equality and women's rights are being threatened, and this is a way that I can contribute more funds than from my regular salary alone.

I'll even donate to a couple of animal charities in honor of my shop's name (and my two cats, two dogs, four hamsters, and one lone goldfish)!

Right now, to control costs to you, many items are shipped from overseas and will take a bit of time to arrive at your home.  The upside is low or free shipping and knowing that part of your purchase also supports women.  All custom Pink Cat Yarn-designed t-shirts are printed on-demand through a distributor.  This cuts down on costs, but does require some shipping.  The good news is that I can work with the distributor to get affordable flat-rate and quick shipping on those items.

Please look around and let me know what you think.  I look forward to serving you and to adding more items in the future.  As a thank you for shopping, I'm offering a 10% discount on your first order of $25 or more through the end of March 2017.  Just use the code MARCHREADY at checkout!
